Yesterday was D-Day. For 48 hours I waited for the results of my CT scan. Every two months I have a CT, but I never get used to it, nor do I ever truly believe that the scan will show no new growth in my liver.
The other result could be that the liver is stable, but the cancer has moved to my lungs or brain. It is a stressful and scary 48 hours that I have to go through every two months.
I believe that living with incurable cancer is the same as living with PTSD – without the P. If you replace the “P” with an “O,” that would be Ongoing Traumatic Stress Disorder. I definitely have that.
My scan was perfect. No new growth. As I have explained before, I am on a trial drug and am responding very well. I am blessed to have been admitted into this study. None of the previous chemos have worked, but this is working. It has been 15 months, and all is stable.
I subscribe to an online website called The Daily Good. I love it, because it tells you at least five good things that people are doing around the world. Don’t you wish the network news would air more “good” news?
Today, one of the articles was: “How the World’s Most Brilliant People Schedule Their Day.” Another was: “How 50 Cups of Coffee Can Change Your Life.”
It’s very cool, and I recommend it.
I have two T-shirts that I alternate wearing. I really should give away all of my clothes and keep only these two T-shirts and a pair of jeans. Having too many clothes complicates your life. Simplify, simplify, simplify.
One shirt says, “Be Good To People,” and the other says, “Gratitude”
Isn’t that what we should be putting out there? What you think is what you become. The attitude you put out to the world comes back to you.
Do something good today. It’s a great feeling.
